A crewed catamaran is the most requested product in Greek chartering and the one most often bought by accident. The word crewed covers two quite different arrangements here, and the price gap between them is larger than the gap between a monohull and a catamaran. Knowing which one you are asking for is worth more than any comparison of agencies.
Skippered, which is what most people mean
Istion Yachting's Greek listing offers its catamarans bareboat or skippered, starting at 3.510 EUR a week for a Bali Catspace of 2023 carrying 12 guests in four cabins out of Athens, and 4.950 EUR for an Excess 14 of 2024 out of Lefkas. Skippered means one professional who sails the boat. You still provision, cook and clear, and the skipper takes a cabin or the saloon, which is the detail that most often changes which boat a group needs.
Fully crewed, which is a different product
A fully crewed catamaran adds at least a host or chef and often more, with the provisioning arranged and the meals and clearing done. The Moorings' Greek page runs to $36,999 for a 7 day charter for 2 and the upper half of that range is where crew are aboard. Above it, the same agencies that list a 3.510 EUR catamaran also list motor yachts with crews of six and eight at 55.000 and 98.000 EUR a week.
The Advance Provisioning Allowance
On a fully crewed Greek charter the fee is not the bill. An APA is a float handed to the captain before the trip, from which fuel, food, drink, berthing and port charges are paid as they arise and reconciled at the end. It is not inside any figure on this page. On a skippered charter there is normally no APA: you buy your own food and fuel, and the skipper is a line on the invoice.
Which one a group of eight actually wants
Eight people on a four cabin catamaran who will cook aboard want skippered, and the arithmetic is comfortable: a 3.510 EUR week plus a skipper divides well. Eight people who want to be looked after want fully crewed, and should price it from the start rather than working up from a bareboat figure. The commonest disappointment in Greek chartering is a skippered booking made by a group expecting the second thing.
Questions people ask about catamaran charter Greece with crew
How much is a crewed catamaran charter in Greece?
Istion Yachting lists catamarans from 3.510 EUR a week out of Athens, offered bareboat or skippered, read on 11 September 2026. Fully crewed boats sit far above that, up to 98.000 EUR a week on the same listing for a large motor yacht.
Does crewed mean a chef?
Only if you asked for it. Skippered means one professional who sails the boat; fully crewed adds at least a host or chef with the provisioning and meals handled.
Is there an APA on a crewed Greek catamaran?
On a fully crewed charter, yes: a float paid to the captain up front for fuel, food, drink and berthing, reconciled at the end. A skippered charter normally has none.
Where does the skipper sleep on a catamaran?
Usually a cabin or the saloon, so a four cabin catamaran may sleep your group in three. Ask before booking, because it decides which boat you need.
