Turkish yacht rental: the cheap end, the fleet price and the day market

Turkey carries three charter markets that barely overlap, and a price quoted in one says nothing about the others. There is a bareboat yacht market that is among the best value in the Mediterranean, a fleet operator market priced like the rest of the Med, and a crewed gulet market that exists almost nowhere else. All three publish something.

Bareboat, which is the cheap end

Nautilus Yachting states on its own Turkish page that a two to three cabin monohull starts at around 900 pounds per week in low season, and adds that Turkish mooring fees are among the lowest in the Mediterranean. That is the same figure it publishes for Greece, and it makes Turkey one of the two cheapest bareboat grounds this record covers once the berthing is counted.

The fleet operator price, which is not

The Moorings publishes a 7 day charter for 2 out of its Fethiye base from 7,224 USD, on a page running to 31,229. That floor is the highest of any Moorings Mediterranean base, above Croatia at 1,885 and Greece at 2,634. The difference is the fleet rather than the country: a large international operator stocks newer and bigger boats at Fethiye than the local agencies do, and prices them accordingly.

The gulet, which is its own market

GuletBroker publishes crewed Turkish gulets by class: 7,000 to 9,000 EUR a week in low season for a standard boat carrying six to eight, rising to 24,000 to 30,000 for a luxury boat carrying ten to twelve in high season. Named boats on its fleet page start at 11,500 EUR out of Fethiye. Crew are included as standard, which is what makes the comparison with a bareboat yacht misleading.

Boat rental Turkey: the day market

SamBoat lists Turkish boats with a from-price against each one, set by whichever listing is cheapest at that moment and moving as boats sell. That is the day hire market on the resort coast rather than a charter week, and it prices an afternoon out of Bodrum or Fethiye rather than seven days aboard.
