Monaco superyacht charter: the published weekly rates and what the APA adds

The French Riviera is the one place in this record where the superyacht market prices itself in public, and the figures are an order of magnitude above everything else here. Monaco itself is a berth rather than a base: the yachts lie in Port Hercule or along the coast at Antibes and Cannes, and a Monaco charter usually means boarding there rather than chartering from there.

Superyacht charter French Riviera: what a week costs

YachtCharterFleet's French Riviera page was read on 11 September 2026 and lists weekly rates against named yachts: Northern Sun, a 51m Narasaki of 1976 refitted 2023 carrying 12 guests, from 161,700 USD a week; Purpose, a 55m Trinity of 2005 refitted 2023, from 270,000; Galileo, a 56m Picchiotti, from 325,000; Aqua Lares, a 77m carrying 30 guests, from 539,000; Lunasea, a 73m Feadship of 2017, from 800,000; and Romea, an 82m Abeking & Rasmussen, from 1,277,000.

What those figures are and are not

They are the yacht and its crew for seven days. They are not the bill. An Advance Provisioning Allowance is paid to the captain before the charter, commonly a substantial share of the fee, covering fuel, food, drink, berthing and port charges as they arise and reconciled against accounts at the end. On a boat of this size the fuel alone is a serious number, and Monaco berthing during the Grand Prix is its own line entirely.

Why length moves the price so fast

Crew. A 51m yacht carrying 12 guests and an 82m carrying 12 guests offer the same headcount and differ by a factor of eight in price, because the larger boat carries far more crew, burns far more fuel and costs far more to keep. Guests per metre falls as length rises, which is the opposite of how most people assume charter pricing works, and it is why a smaller yacht is much better value for a group of twelve.

Yacht charter Monte Carlo, Cannes or Antibes: where the boats lie

Monaco has the address and very little room. Antibes has the largest superyacht marina in the Mediterranean at Port Vauban and is where a great many of these boats actually lie; Cannes has the bay and the festivals. A charter that says Monaco is usually a boat based nearby that will meet you there, and the difference matters only to the berthing bill, which in Monaco in season is substantial.

What to ask a broker for

The yacht by name, the week, the number of guests and cabins, the crew count, the APA as a percentage of the fee, and what the delivery leg costs if the boat is not already on the coast. The first three are how these are quoted; the last three are what decides whether the quoted figure is close to what you will pay.

Questions people ask about Monaco superyacht charter

How much is a superyacht charter on the French Riviera?

YachtCharterFleet publishes weekly rates from 161,700 USD for a 51m yacht up to 1,277,000 for an 82m, read on 11 September 2026, with an Advance Provisioning Allowance charged on top of each.

Can you charter a superyacht from Monaco?

Usually the boat lies at Antibes, Cannes or along the coast and meets you in Monaco. Port Hercule is a berth rather than a charter base, and berthing there in season is expensive in its own right.

Why does the price rise so fast with length?

Crew, fuel and upkeep. A 51m and an 82m may both carry twelve guests and differ eightfold in weekly rate, so a smaller yacht is much better value for a group of twelve.

Is the APA included?

No. It is a float paid to the captain before the charter for fuel, food, drink, berthing and port charges, reconciled against accounts at the end, and on a yacht of this size it is a large number.
