Rent a boat Croatia: a week from a base, a day from the waterfront

Croatia rents boats in two completely different ways and the words for both are the same in English, which is why the search results are such a mess. One is a yacht for a week from a charter base, handed over on a Saturday with a full briefing. The other is a small open boat hired by the day from a kiosk on the waterfront, no license in some cases and no experience in most. The prices differ by a factor of thirty.

A week from a base

Croatia Yachting publishes a from price for each of its bases rather than one national figure, which is rare in this trade. Read on 11 September 2026 it stated Trogir from 600 EUR a week, Dubrovnik from 600, Sukosan from 690 and Sibenik from 752. Those are the cheapest boats in the shoulder season on the smallest hulls. The Moorings, at the other end of the same market, starts a seven day Croatian charter for two at 1,885 USD and runs to 36,020.

A day from the waterfront

The same company's Sibenik page also carries a Rent a Boat line starting at 100 EUR a day, which is the other Croatian market entirely: a five or six metre open boat with an outboard, hired from the town quay for a day among the nearby islands. In most of Croatia a boat under a stated engine power can be operated without a license, and the hire desks will tell you which of their boats qualifies. It is the cheapest way onto this water by a wide margin.

What renting a yacht in Croatia leaves out of the week price

Sailing Holidays in Croatia publishes the extras, which most companies do not: fuel around 100 EUR a week on a sailboat, marina and port fees averaging 450 EUR a week, and a tourist tax of 1.35 EUR per person per day. A skipper, where one is taken, is normally paid separately at embarkation. Those three lines together add several hundred euros to a week and none of them appears in a from price.

The shoulder season discount nobody advertises

Pitter Yachtcharter prices named boats for named weeks rather than publishing a brochure range, and the gap is large. Read the same day, a Bavaria Cruiser 40 S at Marina Tehnomont Veruda in Pula was 1.374 EUR for the week of 26 September against a list price of 2.290, and a Bavaria Cruiser 40 Avantgarde was 838 for the week of 24 October against a list of 1.197. Late September in Croatia is still warm and it costs about forty percent less than August.
