Thailand rents boats on two coasts that are six hours apart by road and six months apart by season. Phuket and the Andaman side run from November to April and hold the great majority of the fleet. Pattaya and the Gulf of Thailand run through the summer when the Andaman side is wet, and the boats there are smaller, faster and aimed at a day out of Bangkok.
Yacht rental Thailand: the national numbers
Read on 11 September 2026, Sailo lists 273 boats in Thailand at an average of 4,935 USD a day, from 435 to 37,500, and Click and Boat lists 295 at an average of 1,215 EUR a day, from 401 to 4,023. The gap between those averages is not a contradiction: the two marketplaces carry different fleets, with Sailo weighted to large crewed motor yachts and Click and Boat to bareboat and skippered sailing.
Phuket by the block
The Phuket listings show what a day actually costs: a 36 foot Axopar 37 Sun Top of 2023 for six guests with a captain at 2,200 USD for eight hours, and a 23 foot Seadoo 230 Wake for eight at 550 USD for eight hours. The first is an island hopping boat for Phi Phi and the hongs; the second is a toy for the beaches around Chalong and Rawai. Both are captained, which is the norm on this coast.
Yacht rental Pattaya and the Gulf
Pattaya sits on the eastern side of the Gulf of Thailand, two hours from Bangkok, and it is the opposite season to Phuket: the Gulf is settled from May to September when the Andaman coast is in the south west monsoon. The boats are smaller and the cruising is thinner, with Koh Larn a few miles offshore and Koh Samet forty miles south east, but the coast works when the other one does not.
What to check
Whether a skipper is mandatory, since several Thai listings require one and the price differs. Whether national park fees are inside the quote, because most of the good anchorages on the Andaman side are inside national parks charging per person per day. Whether fuel is included, which on the Click and Boat listings is stated explicitly on some boats. And which coast the boat is actually on, because the two are not interchangeable.
